Millbrook Growers Basic Garden Design Course Gravesend
Millbrook Growers: Basic Garden Design Course - 25th September to 30th October, 9.30am to 12pm
New for 2019, you're invited to join RHS lecturer, Caroline Halfpenny, for a brand new 5 week gardening course:
Starting from the beginning, by learning how to plot your garden on a flat plan to enable you to design the space, this short course takes you from basic measuring techniques, through to producing a plan that can be used to move your garden towards a more cohesive design. We will cover basic drawing techniques, scale, organising a legend, establishing the aspect of your garden and aim to complete the course with a basic, A3 flat plan of your own garden for you to take home. If time permits, depending on the progress of the group as a whole, we will begin investigating garden design techniques and how to begin a planting plan for a specific bed. This workshop style course will follow specific learning aims, but as we progress it is expected we will all begin to work at a different pace as we grasp a variety of techniques; for example someone may be stronger with scale, whilst others may find drawing skills a challenge. There will be team work involved and some homework, but we aim to have fun as we reach the ultimate goal of plotting our garden.
The course will run on the following dates: Wednesday 25th September, 2nd, 9th, 16th and 30th October 2019. Places are limited and cost £90 per person (includes refreshments plus A3 flat plan). Booking is essential.
