Closing date for all vacancies is Sunday 2nd February 2020

Interviews will take place at a Recruitment Evening on Thursday 13th February 2020 running from 4 pm to 7:30 pm.  All applicants must be able to attend.

Following the Recruitment Evening all successful applicants must be able to attend our Company Induction on Saturday 29th February 2020 from 9 am to 5 pm

Following recruitment all Garden Centre Assistant applicants must be able to attend ‘Make the Sale’ training on Monday 30th March from 5 pm to 7:30 pm.

 

Garden Centre Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Garden Centre Assistant to join us in our house plant area.  You will be part of a team responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers. The daily running and ordering for this area will be your responsibility, so if you have a passion for house plants with preferably basic plant knowledge and an interest in current trends this could be the role for you!

Hours of work:

An average of 36 hours weekly to include alternate weekends

Skills: This is a physically demanding role, you will be on your feet throughout your shift, moving stock and assisting customers.  In addition, the successful applicant will:

  • Have a real passion for plants with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Preferably basic plant knowledge, but, if not training will be provided
  • Preferably have experience of working in a similar role within a retail environment
  • Confident customer service skills with a commitment to delivering exceptional service at all times
  • Excellent communication skills

Hospitality Assistants

We have an opportunity for three Hospitality Assistants to join the team in our Mill Restaurant. The successful applicants will assist both front and back of house by providing outstanding customer service, preparation of hot drinks, till operation, food service, clearing of tables and assistance within the wash up area.

Hours of work:

We have the following three positions available:

  • Average of 17 hours weekly working every Monday and Tuesday plus Saturday one week and Sunday the following week
  • Average of 32 hours weekly working every Monday and Wednesday plus alternate Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Average of 28 hours weekly working every Monday plus alternate Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Skills and Experience:The successful applicants will:

– preferably have experience of working in a similar role within a busy catering environment
– have great communication skills with an outgoing positive personality
– have a proactive approach and the ability to take responsibility and ownership
– have the ability to be flexible to cover the demands of the role

Weekend Garden Centre Assistants

We have an opportunity for two Garden Centre Assistants to join us at the weekend.  You will be part of a team responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers.  Working primarily in the store you will merchandise stock, assist our customers and operate a till.  During the school holidays you will assist with events arranged for children to attend.

Hours of work:

We have the following two positions available:

Every Saturday 8:50 am to 4 pm inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid break

Alternatively

Every Sunday 9:20 am to 4:30 pm inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid break

Skills: This is a physically demanding role, you will be on your feet throughout your shift, moving stock and assisting customers.  In addition, the successful applicants will:

  • Have a passion for excellent service with preferably previous experience working in a customer facing role within a retail environment
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to engage with children
  • A flexible and proactive approach with a willingness to take responsibility and ownership
