Kitchen Supervisor

Description: We have an opportunity for a Kitchen Supervisor to join the team in our Green Cafe which is a very popular destination within the Garden Centre. The successful applicant will supervise the daily back of house catering operations through leading the kitchen and team to ensure that food and services exceed the expectations of our customers.

Hours of work: an average of 42 hours weekly to include alternate weekends

Skills and Experience: The successful applicant will:

  • Have experience of working in a similar role within a busy professional catering environment
  • Have a flair for producing outstanding food to a high standard
  • Ability to motivate and supervise a team to deliver food and services within the required deadlines
  • Have excellent customer service, communication and presentation skills
  • Have a proactive approach and the ability to take responsibility and ownership

Garden Centre Assistants

Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Garden Centre Assistants to join the team as follows:

Vacancy one: Working an average of 20 hours each week to include alternate weekends.  This vacancy requires the successful applicant to work both within the centre and outside in the plant area.  Within the centre you will be merchandising stock, assisting our customers and will preferably have experience of selling high ticket products.  Within the plant area you will take an active role in plant care including watering and pruning.  You will need to enjoy being outside whatever the weather with the ability to engage in physical work as heavy lifting is involved.

Vacancy two: Working every Sunday 6 hours and 40 minutes (9:20 am to 4:30 pm).  This vacancy will require the successful applicant to work within the centre primarily operating a till but also responsible for merchandising stock and assisting our customers.

Skills: the successful applicants will:

  • preferably have previous experience of working in a similar retail environment
  • confident customer service skills with a commitment to delivering exceptional service at all times
  • the ability to merchandise stock with a good eye for detail
  • great communication skills
  • a flexible, proactive approach and a willingness to take responsibility and ownership

Interviews will take place at a Recruitment Evening on Thursday 1st August 2019 running from 4:30 pm to 7 pm.  All applicants must be able to attend from the beginning of the evening.

Following the Recruitment Evening all successful applicants must be able to attend our Company Induction on Saturday 17th August from 9 am to 5 pm.


Hospitality Assistants

Description: We have an opportunity for two Hospitality Assistants to join the team in our Green Cafe which is a very popular destination within the Garden Centre. The successful applicants will provide outstanding customer service, preparing hot drinks, till operation, food service and clearing of tables.

Hours of work: 

Vacancy one: Working 9:30 am to 2 pm every Weds, Thurs, Fri and Saturday

Vacancy two: Working 9:30 am to 2 pm every Sun, Mon and Tuesday

Skills and Experience: The successful applicants will:

– preferably have experience of working in a similar role within a busy catering environment
– have great communication skills with an outgoing positive personality
– have a proactive approach and the ability to take responsibility and ownership
– have the ability to be flexible to cover the demands of the role
