Garden Centre and Green Cafe Opportunities

We are seeking to appoint several highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals on a permanent basis.  The vacancies available are as follows with application information at the end of this page:

Garden Centre Assistants – three positions available 

Purpose of role: to be part of a team delivering exceptional service and assisting our customers.

Hours:

  • One position of 36 hours weekly working Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday 8:50 am  to 5 pm plus Sunday 9:20 am to 4:30 pm
  • Two positions of 12 hours weekly working Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 10 am to 4 pm.

These are physically demanding roles where you will be on your feet throughout your shift operating a till and assisting with merchandising and the movement of stock.  The successful applicants will:

  • Preferably have previous experience of working in a similar customer facing role within a retail environment
  • Confident customer service skills with a commitment to delivering exceptional service at all times
  • Have an outgoing personality with strong communication skills and a can do attitude
  • A flexible and proactive approach to meet the demands of the role

Job description

Garden Centre Assistant – plant area

Purpose of role: to take an active role in plant care including; watering, pruning and other maintenance within the plant area.  In between serving customers and providing plant advice you will be merchandising stock, weeding and ensuring our displays are always full of top quality plants.

Hours:

36 hours on average weekly working week one, Mon, Weds, Thurs and Friday 8:50 am to 5 pm plus week two, Mon, Weds, Thurs, Fri, Saturday 8:50 am to 5 pm and Sunday 9:20 am to 4:30 pm

This physically demanding role requires an applicant with:

  • A real passion for plants with a willingness to learn
  • Preferably horticulture knowledge
  • Preferably previous experience of working in a similar retail environment
  • Confident customer service skills with a commitment to delivering exceptional service at all times
  • Have an outgoing personality with strong communication skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach to meet the demands of the role

Job description

Hospitality Assistants – two positions available

Purpose of role: to provide outstanding customer service, preparation of hot drinks, till operation, food service, clearing of tables and assistance within the wash up area.

Hours:

  1. 29.25 hours on average weekly working week one, Mon, Tues, Thurs and Saturday 10 am to 5 pm plus week two, Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and Saturday 10 am to 5 pm
  2. 6.5 hours weekly working on Sunday 9:30 am to 4:30 pm

These are physically demanding roles where you will be on your feet throughout your shift within a fast paced environment.  The successful applicants will:

  • Preferably have experience of working in a similar role within a busy catering environment
  • Being keen with the willingness to learn new skills is essential
  • Have the ability to comply with all food hygiene practices
  • Have great communication skills
  • Be energetic, enthusiastic with a real passion for quality food
  • Be a proactive team player who can take responsibility and ownership
