Millbrook Garden Centre, Gravesend opened in March 1994

Located just minutes from the busy A2, right next door to the Pepper Hill Recycling Depot at Southfleet on the outskirts of Gravesend town centre, Millbrook is only 10 minutes from the Bluewater shopping centre.

The centre has all you need to help you grow your garden, plus a great range of giftware, home furnishings and clothing as well as furniture and BBQs and of course our friendly, knowledgeable staff are always on hand to give you help and advice.

You will find ample free parking at Millbrook Gravesend and our new restaurant, The Mill, with free Wi-Fi access is a popular destination for hot and cold drinks and treats as well as tasty breakfasts and lunches. Please click here to view our Access Statement.

The Millbrook Butterfly Experience is back this Summer!  

"Little gem of a place!" - Gravesend visitor 2018

Be amazed by our tropical indoor garden and experience beautiful butterflies free-flying all around.

The Millbrook Butterfly Experience is alive with an array of stunning butterflies and exotic scented plants from across the world. Get up close and discover amazing facts about the life-cycle and behaviour of these fascinating creatures. Spot and identify many different species using a butterfly spotter sheet you will be given on arrival to the butterfly experience.

Open for visitors until Saturday 14th September (11am to 4pm).

Tickets for the Butterfly Experience can only be bought on the day at the butterfly kiosk or tills. Tickets cost £2 for adults and £1 for children. Private group bookings available for schools, nurseries, special needs groups, care homes and community clubs. Please email the centre for more details: gravesendinfo@millbrookgc.co.uk

The Millbrook Butterfly Experience information: The butterfly experience is located in our canopied area, follow the butterfly signs until you reach your destination. Tickets can only be purchased in store, either at the butterfly kiosk near the butterfly experience or any of our tills in the centre. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The butterfly experience will last around 15 minutes. You may need to queue during busy times. There is space for buggies outside of the butterfly experience. Our Millbrook Growers talks offer hints and tips to get your garden growing; perfect for putting into practice when you get home. Tickets cost £7.50 and include refreshments. 

A Short History of English Gardens with Kevin Tooher - Thursday 1st August, 10.30am

RHS lecturer, Kevin Tooher, returns to Millbrook, with a potted history of 2000 years of gardening in England looking at the most influential periods and individuals including Repton, Brown, Jellicoe, Sackville -West and others up to the present day.

Autumn Bulb Planting with Johnny Walker of Walker Bulbs - Thursday 5th September, 10.30am

Mulitiple RHS Chelsea gold-medallist, Johnny Walkers of Walkers Bulbs, gives a lively talk and demonstration on bulb planting to generate a riot of colour in the spring. The talk will cover what to look for when buying bulbs, planting depths and distances and post flowering aftercare.

Herbaceous Perennials with Caroline Halfpenny - Thursday 3rd October, 10.30am

Horticulturist and RHS lecturer, Carolin Halfpenny, returns to Millbrook with an illustrated talk on herbaceous perennials, the mainstay of garden borders. Caroline will share her experience on how to pick wisely to get year-round interest.

Grow Your Own Fruit & Vegetables with Caroline Halfpenny - Thursday 7th November, 10.30am

Join the ‘grow your own’ revolution with Caroline’s top tips and expert guide to creating a kitchen garden brimming with wholesome vegetables, herbs, salad and fruit that you can pick fresh for the table!

Plants for Winter Interest with Alison Marsden - Thursday 5th December, 10.30am

Flowers are the star performers in our gardens in spring and summer but how do you continue the colour and interest through autumn and winter? Gardening guru, Alison Marsden, will show you how to choose and place plants in your garden for a great winter display, however large or small your garden.
