Shop Manager

Description: We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and proactive manager to drive the performance of the indoor area of the Garden Centre and Green Café.  The successful applicant will lead a small team to deliver exceptional standards of merchandising and customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Jointly manage the running of the centre with the Outdoor Manager
  • Leading the indoor retail and Green Café teams to deliver exceptional customer service and merchandising standards consistently
  • As part of the Garden Centre Management team take responsibility for the security and safe running of the site as a Duty Manager
  • Promote staff ownership and accountability to create a positive and enjoyable working environment

Hours of Work: 42 hours on average each week to include weekend working

Skills and Experience: we are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and proactive manager who takes great pride in achieving success through the team with:

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills
  • A can do attitude
  • Strong retail experience in a similar role but not necessarily a garden centre
  • The ability to drive performance of the team and centre

Goods in Supervisor

Description: We are looking for a part time Goods in Supervisor to join our friendly team within the Garden Centre.  The successful applicant will oversee the daily running of the goods inwards department ensuring all orders and deliveries are correctly processed and received, ensuring a smooth transition to the shop floor or storage, enabling the retail team to inspire, educate and equip our customers.

Hours of Work: 25 hours Monday to Friday each week working 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.  Please note that we can be flexible on the times but the position must be worked Monday to Friday to achieve consistency.

Skills and Experience:

The successful applicant will be a process driven individual who also has:

  • Excellent organisational and communications skills
  • Preferably experience in a similar role within a retail environment
  • Possess strong attention to detail skills
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service at all times

Garden Centre Assistants

Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Garden Centre Assistants to join the team on a part time basis. You will be part of a team responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers.  You will work primarily in the Garden Centre shop merchandising stock, assisting our customers, operating a till, processing routine replenishment orders and cashing up for which training will be provided. If you love variety in your work and have a flexible approach then this may be the role for you!

Hours of Work: two positions available working an average of 23.5 hours each week to include alternate weekends

Skills: This is a physically demanding role, you will be on your feet throughout your shift, moving stock and assisting customers. In addition the successful applicant will:

– have a passion for excellent service with previous experience working in a customer facing role within a retail environment
– the ability to merchandise stock with a good eye for detail
– great communication skills
– a flexible, proactive approach and a willingness to take responsibility and ownership
