Interviews will take place at a Recruitment Evening on Monday 10th February 2020 running from 5 pm to 7:30 pm.  All applicants must be able to attend.

Following the Recruitment Evening all successful applicants must be able to attend our Company Induction on Sunday 15th March 2020 from 9 am to 4:30 pm

Following recruitment all Garden Centre Assistant applicants must be able to attend ‘Make the Sale’ training on Monday 6th April 2020 from 5 pm to 7:30 pm

 

Kitchen/Catering Assistants

We have an opportunity for two Kitchen/Catering Assistants to join the team in our greencafé which is a very popular destination within the Garden Centre. The successful applicants will have cooking skills to enable the production of all menu items.  In addition you will assist front of house by providing outstanding customer service, preparing hot drinks, till operation, food service, and clearing of tables, plus assist in the wash-up area.

Hours of work:Two positions available as follows:

1) 24 hours weekly working Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10 am to 2 pm plus Wednesday and Sunday 9:30 am to 4 pm inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid break

2) 20 hours weekly working Tuesday to Saturday 10 am 2 pm

Skills and Experience:The successful applicants will:

– preferably have experience of working in a similar role within a busy catering environment
– have cooking skills to produce all menu items
– have the ability to comply with all food hygiene practices
– have basic knowledge of stock control with an understanding of daily wastage and how it   influences profit and loss
– be an excellent team player
– have great communication skills with an outgoing positive personality
– have a proactive approach and the ability to take responsibility and ownership
– have the ability to be flexible to cover the demands of the role

Weekend Garden Centre Assistants

An exciting opportunity has arisen for three Garden Centre Assistants to join us at the weekend.  You will be part of a team responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers.  You will take an active role in merchandising stock, assisting our customers and operating a till.  Plus, plant care including; watering, pruning, weeding and ensuring our displays are always full of top quality plants.  If you love variety in your work, and have a flexible approach then this may be the role for you!

Hours of work:

We have the following three positions available working 8 hours weekly:

  • One individual to work Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 2 pm
  • Two individuals to work Saturday 1 pm to 5 pm and Sunday 12 midday to 4 pm

Skills: This is a physically demanding role where heavy lifting is involved, you will be on your feet throughout your shift, moving stock and assisting customers.  In addition, the successful applicants will:

  • Have a passion for excellent service with preferably previous experience working in a customer facing role within a retail environment
  • Preferably have an interest in plants with a willingness to learn and develop
  • The ability to merchandise stock
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach

Weekend Hospitality Assistants

We require two individuals for the following shifts:

10 hours weekly working Saturday 10 am to 4:30 pm (inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid break) plus Sunday 10 am to 2 pm

The successful applicants may be required to work additional hours during key trading times
