The Millbrook Garden Festival! A new gardening event in Kent

There’s something magical about gardening in autumn. The air is fresher, the light softer, and the earth still warm enough to welcome new roots. It’s the perfect season to plant, plan and be inspired for the months ahead.

That’s why we’re excited to launch our brand-new Garden Festival on Saturday 20th September 2025 at Millbrook Garden Centre, Gravesend. Join us for a day packed with gardening inspiration - from expert talks and creative workshops to live planting demonstrations, music and more.

Whether you’re looking for things to do in Kent this September, a fun gardening day out with friends, or the perfect gift for a plant lover, here are six unmissable reasons to book tickets to our inspiring new gardening event.

1. Meet BBC Gardeners’ World presenter Nick Bailey (ticketed event)

TV presenter, author and plantsman Nick Bailey is joining us at Millbrook Garden Centre for an insightful talk - 365 Days of Colour. Discover how to keep your garden blooming with colourful plants all year-round, then enjoy a live Q&A and book signing. Not to be missed!

2. The amazing Mr Plant Geek with ‘The Weird & Wacky Plant Show’ (ticketed event)

Instagram star, QVC resident expert and Sunday Times top 20 gardening influencer, Michael Perry (aka @mr_plantgeek) brings his lively 'Weird & Wacky Plant Show' to Kent for one day only. With a passion for discovering new and unusual plants, join Michael for an entertaining session packed with fascinating plant stories and anecdotes you won’t hear anywhere else.

3. Make a beautiful Autumn wreath (ticketed event)

Led by our favourite RHS teacher Caroline, this creative autumn wreath workshop is the perfect way to celebrate the season. Craft your own stunning dried flower wreath to take home and treasure. All materials, expert tuition and complimentary coffee/tea included. Spaces are limited for this workshop, book early to avoid disappointment!

4. Free planting demonstrations at Millbrook Garden Centre

Our Millbrook plant experts Sharon and Ellisha will run free gardening demonstrations throughout the day. From Autumn planters at The Potting Bench (10am & 2pm) to terrarium magic in our houseplant area (11am & 3pm), leave inspired with new skills and tips to try at home.

5. Rock Choir live performance
