Millbrook Garden Centre in Gravesend raises £4,903 for ellenor

Thanks to the support of our customers and staff, Millbrook Garden Centre in Gravesend has raised £4,903.08 for local charity ellenor, which provides hospice and end-of-life care for people and families across Kent and Bexley.

The funds were raised through ticket sales and charity raffles from two of our 2025 events held at our Gravesend centre – the Festive Shopping Evening and our first ever Autumn Gardening Festival. Both events brought together gardeners and plant lovers from across Kent, while helping to support an important local cause.

This week we were delighted to welcome representatives from ellenor to Millbrook Garden Centre, Gravesend where our Managing Director, Tammy Woodhouse, presented them with a very big cheque for £4,903.

As well as supporting ellenor through our events, we are pleased to announce we are once again headline sponsor of Glorious Gardens - a local open gardens initiative organised by the charity. The Summer long event sees members of the public open their gardens to visitors, showcasing their creativity and passion for gardening, while raising vital funds and awareness for ellenor. It's a great way to encourage community involvement while highlighting the positive role gardens can play in bringing people together - something we’re really passionate about at Millbrook.

By sponsoring the campaign for a second year, we’re happy to help Glorious Gardens continue and reach even more visitors across the local area this summer.

Tammy Woodhouse, Managing Director of Millbrook Garden Centre, said:

We’re proud to continue supporting ellenor through the Glorious Gardens campaign for a second year. As a garden centre rooted in the local community, it’s important to us to support initiatives that make a meaningful difference close to home.”

Jemma Kemp, Corporate Partnerships Manager at ellenor, added:

We are absolutely thrilled to receive this generous donation from Millbrook Garden Centre. A huge thank you to Millbrook for choosing to support ellenor, and to their customers whose generosity made this possible. We’re also delighted that Millbrook will be sponsoring our Glorious Gardens campaign for a second year - a perfect fit as our local garden centre. We’re excited to grow this partnership even further and look forward to working together to make this year’s campaign bigger and better than ever.”

Millbrook Garden Centre has supported ellenor charities for many years through a range of fundraising activities. Alongside our local charity work, we also give funds to national charity Greenfingers, which creates gardens for children’s hospices across the UK - including the recently opened garden at Demelza in Sittingbourne, Kent.

Thank you to everyone who supported our events this year and helped us to fundraise along the way! For more information about the amazing work that ellenor do visit www.ellenor.org.
